It is difficult to summarize what an extraordinary RN and person Debra Kinzly is to the ER and DeGraff Memorial Hospital. No matter how chaotic the Emergency Room becomes, Debra remains professional and courteous to all patients, families, visitors and fellow colleagues.
Debra demonstrates empathy to all individuals under her care while maintaining her high expectations of care. Debra treats patients "as if they are a relative" with respect, dignity and without judgment.
Debra is a natural leader to the ER and it is difficult to provide just one example of her leadership because she consistently remains organized, patient with others, and approachable even during the most difficult situations. She has never refused a request to help and will go above and beyond without being asked to do so. She is an outstanding role model for the nursing profession especially nurse new to the profession.
I cannot think of another person who is more deserving of the DAISY Award, because simply put, Debra is an extraordinary nurse.
