I came to the ER for detoxing and Debbie was one of my regular nurses, she heard that I was homeless and didn't have much of anything. She would come in everyday of my stay at the hospital and just talk with me, tell me to stay strong, and let me know I had someone who cared. One night she came into work and brought me a bag full of clothes, shower goods and shoes because she knew that I didn't have any I guess. Her heart is huge and you can tell she actually like and enjoy her job because she genuinely cares for her patients. So thank you Debbie from the bottom of my heart, you made a big difference for me in my life while I stayed in the hospital and I know the impact you had on me will stay with me forever. As I'm sure you have the same impact with many others of your patients as well. Stay sweet, loving and caring because it shows.

I was admitted to L & D at 29 weeks pregnant with severe preeclampsia. Debbie was my nurse and throughout the course of my stay my preeclampsia worsened. I was taken in for an emergency C-section and had pain that was completely debilitating. Debbie was at my side and showed more compassion, skill and care than anyone I have ever met. Debbie went above and beyond, not only in her ability to care for me physically, but emotionally as well. Her voice, demeanor, tenacity and above all, compassion for me was amazing in every way possible. If I could ever repay her it would be with this award!

My daughter was transferred here from Grafton with preeclampsia. Her gestation of 29 weeks was extremely hard for me, as a mom to understand how possibly my grandson would make it. My daughter was getting married on Saturday 10/18/14 and at her prenatal appointment she was admitted to Grafton Medical Center. She had her long planned wedding in the chapel there and was transferred to Sinai as soon as it was over. While her wedding guests were eating, Chris her husband, received a telephone call that Pam was being transferred here to Sinai. Every possible thought that could go through my mind did. As I arrived at the hospital, and over the next four days I would see Debbie. When her compassion and care showed the most was on Tuesday afternoon. When my daughter, in extreme pain from preeclampsia, could no longer comprehend what was going on, it was Debbie that made the difference. From offering her medication, to actually interpreting the physician while in another C-section, I believe she saved my daughter's life, and ultimately my grandson Ayden's Life also. She had the greatest amount of compassion with the ultimate skill of a RN. There truly are no words that can explain my gratitude to Debbie not only as a mom and grandma, but also as a RN. I learned from Debbie that compassion is a gift that we all need to be refreshed in. I also learned that when you are a true nurse in L & D, you may not always have the answers but the answers of truth with a gentle and loving voice can sooth and calm any patient. My extreme gratitude and thanks will never be enough to say thank you to her.
