Debra Page is an extraordinary RN. Recently we have had some unforeseen and unexpected staffing challenges in the Gynecology Oncology Clinic. I have never seen a nurse rise to the challenge the way Deb Page has done so! She is truly someone who is inspiring and heartwarming everywhere she goes while remaining humble all the while. Try to pay Deb a compliment! She won't know how to accept it besides a blushing smile and awww thank you! She is just simply special! She is the only experienced nurse in a bustling Gyn Onc Clinic currently. She fields questions from patients, staff, providers, infusion center, OR, scheduling, you name, Deb does it. I have never once heard Deb complain about any of this. As all is happening around her, she is protective, nurturing, and caring of ALL staff including new staff onboarding. She takes time to teach them, knowing this will only benefit the growing clinic in the end. Deb Page practices patience and remains calm in the most stressful of any situation. Her team would never be the same without her. The day a patient called threatening to hurt themselves over the phone, Deb kept the patient on the phone with her until the police arrived to take the patient to the hospital. Her voice was calming to this patient and all those in the clinic. Deb Page is one of a kind and Baptist MD Anderson is privileged to have a nurse with integrity, intelligence, and most importantly a heart of gold like no other!
