Debra has spent the past near 2 years working with this patient and family to support, encourage and facilitate the transition to home. She has spent countless hours encouraging the child's mother as well as playing with the patient, purchasing clothes and toys, and helping to stimulate his mind and brain as he went through horrific treatment. When it was finally time for the patient to leave Medical City Children's Hospital, she orchestrated a magnificent sendoff for this family inviting all team members that have cared for this child to be present for a sendoff. She is a special nurse and goes above and beyond to make sure she exemplifies caring and compassion.
