Debbie had a patient who shared with her how much he loved "Waffle House" and how he wished he could go there to eat. He had a specific "Waffle House" that he visited on a daily basis and indicated he was missing it. The next morning, Debbie brought the "Waffle House "experience to him at the hospital, in the ICU. She wore a Waffle House hat, took his order (with a Real Waffle House menu) and brought him Waffle House for breakfast. Debbie did all of this so that he would feel a little bit of home while being in the strange, and sometimes scary ICU. Debbie is such a caring compassionate and thoughtful nurse and I'm so happy to be her co-worker.
