We have been blessed by so many wonderful faculty members, but my experience in the Community Health course was made by this instructor. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience in this field, but her excitement and passion are what brought the material to life. Not only did she educate our minds, but she educated our hearts. Although we have had challenges being on Zoom, she made many adjustments even during the five weeks we had class to give us the best experience possible. Every time I reached out to this instructor I heard back within minutes, and at times when I needed to call her oftentimes I heard music or small children in the background. This is one of the many examples of how she put her students first. There are many quotes and words of wisdom this instructor told me that I have written down to look at on a regular basis. She taught me and other the power of reflection and strategies on how to work in teams. This instructor has impacted who I will become as a nurse, and her ability to adapt, encourage, care for her students as whole people make her a DAISY Nurse. If one day I am half the nurse she is, I will be proud.
