There was a patient in ICU who was being readied for transfer to MMC. This patient had a large caring family with him, however, had little financial means to be with their loved one in Portland. Deece made a point of keeping this family informed of their loved one's condition at all times plus made sure they had any assistance we were able to provide to help them go to Portland (ie. gas card, discounted hotel and called ahead to make sure it was available). I feel she went the extra steps this family needed as well as support emotionally during this time.
