Professor Woodall does more for her students than I could ever name.
Over the last semester and a half, Professor Woodall has become one of my biggest role models and easily the most caring, supportive, and genuine educator I have ever had. She is an astounding instructor both in the classroom and the hospital setting, an exceptional leader on the Salina campus for both students and faculty, and has also proven that she is a tireless worker, not only for her students but also herself.

Professor Woodall does more for her students than I could ever name, but a few include- teaching our two hardest courses, planning (and continuously updating, due to COVID restrictions) our clinical schedule (I wish I could attach the Excel spreadsheet...it's terrifying), serving as the advisor for the Thiry society (academic society for Salina Nursing students), and giving constant academic support and resources in both classes, as well as individual meetings. Professor Woodall has also planned and will teach an elective course during the Summer 2021 academic semester.

Outside of KU, she continues to work at the bedside at a rural hospital and is currently working on her Doctor of Nursing Practice. There is a running joke within the Salina students that Professor Woodall doesn't sleep because there is simply no way anyone can do as much as she does. Professor Woodall is a fantastic educator, a role model in nursing, and one of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. But on top of all of that, she genuinely cares for her students and their well-being. I recently found myself in a dark place and struggling with my mental health. I turned to Professor Woodall for help, and she did more for me than anyone ever has. She acknowledged and legitimized my feelings, reached out immediately, offered support and resources, and continued to follow up. Not only is Prof Woodall the leader in nursing that I someday hope to be, but also the empathetic and compassionate individual we should all strive to be.
