I burned my eyes chemically and had to spend the night in the hospital. I wanted to thank the nurse who took care of me on that night with all my heart. I thought I was going to go blind and rarely had such a sore eye, impossible to open them and Deirdre was very kind, reassuring and comforting. She put drops in my eyes while giving me courage because they were very painful. She was very sweet. I am all alone here in Ireland being in Erasmus for 4 months so my family couldn't come to see me in the hospital and that evening I was very lonely and Deirdre was very kind. I had a new tattoo the same day but I couldn't see it because I burned my eyes a few hours later. She kindly accepted to treat it and complimented me on it after my questions. It really warmed my heart. I couldn't recognize her because in the morning I still couldn't see.
I don't remember it so much the night was difficult but in any case, if you can get this little word across to her, I would like to thank her wholeheartedly. When you are in the hospital and the world collapses for you, it is this kind of person who gives you a little hope. A big thanks to Deirdre again.

Thank you, Deirdre, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
