Delanie A Deckard, LPN

Delanie Deckard is a compassionate and caring nurse for all patients. We had a particular patient that she recently helped in a tremendous way, which consumed a lot of time and effort on her end. The patient came to our office after a recent ER visit that left him with an untreated UTI. Unfortunately, the patient's care had been bounced around with little follow-up, and by the time the patient came to us, he was in need of IV antibiotics.

We attempted to get Home Health on board, but being the end of day Friday, we were running out of options. Home Health contacted our office just before 5 pm and gave a plan of action for Monday, during which Delanie spent a lot of time on the phone to coordinate the patient's care. Ultimately, this patient needed a PICC line placement, labs as well as IV antibiotics ordered, all of which Delanie followed up on and ensured that the patient was getting the best care possible. There were many hiccups along the way for this patient and getting him the care he needed. Delanie truly went above and beyond to ensure that this patient didn't fall through the cracks again. She showed care and compassion towards the patient, was a strong advocate, and communicated between the physician's office, home health, pharmacy, and beyond. She showed how much of a team it takes to care for our patients as she utilized resources to help. In this case, she went above and beyond to try to keep this patient at home and get him the care he needed.​
