Today was one of the scariest days of my life. I went for labs and a PET exam for an upcoming knee replacement and ended up at the ER at Anderson Hospital with a pacemaker. So alone, frightened, feeling sorry for myself, and tears running down my face. I remember a soft, calming voice telling me the hardest part was over. She reassured me everything was looking good. She promised me she would take care of me while in the ICU. And she kept her word.

Delice treated me like a princess and comforted me when necessary. She helped build up my confidence. We shared personal stories and memories causing me to laugh, get sentimental, and shake our heads! She even gave me advice on the care and management of my pacemaker and personal health information. We even talked about food.

She went beyond her scope of duties to take care of me and make me comfortable. She got a recliner so I could sit up. Nurse Delice didn’t only show me kindness but to her patients and co-workers as well. She was knowledgeable, caring, motivating, kind, and gentle and I’m grateful that I was assigned to her.
