One Saturday Nurse Delina was ending her shift and instead of running out the door she stayed to help another department. We all know at the end of a long day the last thing we want to do is one more thing before we leave. This nurse gladly offered her services up. The Birthplace had requested that an EKG be done on one of their patients. They put in a request for an EKG but the therapist assigned was unable to immediately respond because they were involved with essential treatments. The Birthplace called 4 East and this nurse gladly offered to go downstairs and do this EKG. She took time after the end of her shift to provide a higher level of care so this patient would not have to wait for the test and the other patients could continue to be cared for by the therapist. I think she often demonstrates the team effort we offer here at SNHMC.
