Dell was the absolute best in taking care of B while she was in the ICU for 12 days. B enjoyed having Dell take care of her during the night shift. Dell is so compassionate and kept us up to date on what was going on with B's condition. I remember one morning; Dell did not want to leave because she wanted to take care of B a bit longer. The night that we let B go to heaven was bittersweet; however, Dell was there and she took charge and informed the family of B's condition. She was not getting any better and Dell talked to B and asked her if she was ready to go and B nodded yes. Dell let us decide on what to do and encouraged us that we were making the right decision. Dell told us that she would not let B suffer at all. We waited for the rest of the out of town family members to get there and have some time with B. Dell made B feel comfortable.
I just want tell you how impressed I was with Dell. My husband said that Dell needs to be a doctor. Dell is so caring and compassionate and wants to do the very best that she can for her patients. I see the love in her eyes and the entire family, including B's husband, would like to nominate Dell for the DAISY Award. She was absolutely top notch! Dell has a heart full of love and care.
