Delma Simbahan, RN
Nurse Delma is the kindest, most professional, quick-response Godsend. I was in extreme pain, and although Delma had just come on duty, she made sure my pain was managed. She provided snacks and drew blood with a positive attitude. It’s good to come to a hospital where it looks like the nurse actually enjoys the job and makes a difficult time for a patient turn into a great experience.
I thank this hospital for hiring real people, not just another person who’s just for a paycheck. I was in pain and drained from my surgery, not knowing what type of person my care would be in the hands of, and thank god a person who takes their job seriously, because I’ve had bad experiences after surgery before.
Thank you. I hope this means something to this hospital because it really means something to me.

I got a blood clot in my leg, a painful calf muscle, and a cold, white foot with loss of sensation. Delma took care of me after the clot was dissolved with TPA by interventional radiology. She very kind and caring, always smiling, cheerful, quick to respond all night long.
I signed an agreement to promise to call for help to get out of bed or a chair (a very wise FALL PRECAUTION). Delma is quick to respond to calls or alarms (like an IV pump done or an IV line kinked when I roll over in my sleep). She checked on me through the night and tried not to wake me if I slept (I really needed the sleep badly).
When my blood pressure was too low, she would hold meds that lowered BP. then rechecked BP later and then resumed meds. She got me saltines, always made sure I had fluids to help with low BP and fiber, prune, graham crackers, juice, fruit to help with bowels after procedures requiring constipating narcotics.
She was like a smiling cheerleader when sensation began to return to my foot and when her Doppler checks showed some pulses returning to my foot. This was a very capable nursing team member, knowledgeable, caring, smiling, stretching to help, with a positive attitude, tirelessly doing her job and caring and helping get better and home.
