Delores cared for me, our baby, and my husband during my recovery from a Cesarean delivery. She was our nurse for all four nights of our hospital stay. Her kind, consistent care alone made her a welcome presence in our room as she oversaw my medication schedule, checked vital signs for myself and baby regularly, and encouraged me to take literal steps towards mobility after my operation.
In particular, we are deeply grateful to Delores for her dedicated manner "at patient and family education." This aspect was especially meaningful as she patiently showed us basic techniques of caring for our newborn that was not covered in any of our birth classes. Many of these tasks she demonstrated more than once and never made us feel bad for not getting things the first time around.
Our experience with Delores also illustrated how she "consistently ensures the comfort of patient and families" and exemplifies interdisciplinary teamwork and communication skills, she never made us feel like a burden but made many trips to the ice/water machine, so I had plenty of fluids.
We greatly appreciate Delores's care and consider her role as a major part of our positive experience at Sequoia Hospital.
