Ms. Hepburn was nominated by the spouse of a Veteran patient hospitalized for COVID-19. She expressed gratitude for Ms. Hepburn's level of care and compassion noting specifically that because of Ms. Hepburn's kindness, she was able to leave at night with peace knowing her husband was being so well taken care of.

Deloris took care of my father while he was on the COVID floor. I met her the night he passed away. My Dad was struggling, and you could tell in her voice and deep concern that she knew he did not have much longer. Deloris helped my brother and I suit up in all of the safety gear and allowed us a long final visit with my Dad. She did everything in her power to notify the doctor to him meds to help in distress.
As we left, I was glad to know that someone like her was taking care of him. He passed that night, and we were told she had a hard time with it because she really liked and cared for my father. I pray he is in heaven now, and I would like for Deloris to know how much we truly appreciate everything she and all of the staff on the 9th floor did for my father.
