We talked many times and she constantly came in to check on me which was very comforting. She has a great sense of humor which I needed.
Dena’s demeanor is so calming. Even though she gives answers or education, she does it in such a way that does not put people down or make them feel inferior. She has such a sweet personality!

Being in a hospital is a scary thing especially when you don't know from one day to the next what is wrong with you. Lots of tests and lab work and questions from all kinds of staff. I was overwhelmed but my shining ray of sunlight came into my room as I was settling in. She told me her name, Dena, and that she would be here for anything I needed over my stay. We talked many times and she constantly came in to check on me which was very comforting. She has a great sense of humor which I needed. Staying positive and looking at the good side of things was a necessary part of every day and she was there to reinforce that in me. I went right from my Doctor's office to the Emergency and then to Dena's floor as an inpatient. I came with nothing but my cell phone and no charger. She got it charged, and found shampoo, conditioner, and soap so I could have a shower. A very special woman with a big heart and a lot of love for her passion-nursing.

Dena made us feel like family. She was so patient and kind about everything! When I did not understand something, she took the time to explain things to me so I could understand what was happening during each stage of my care. She knew what I needed even before I knew I needed it. It was a delight to wake up to her every morning; with her cheery disposition and perpetual positivity. She even put on a “changing of the shift” ceremony each evening to introduce me to my night team. Thank you, Dena!
