Deneca Schiller, RN

In July 2022 a patient was presented to the EC for suicidal ideations. After getting the full story, Deneca quickly realized that this story was much bigger than was initially told to our staff. Deneca learned of the patient’s friend (outside of the hospital) that was also suicidal. She quickly gathered as much info as possible, alerted local law enforcement, and quite literally talked the outside patient out of a dark mindset and got her to get appropriate help. Deneca simultaneously saved the 2 very young lives today. Outside from today's heroic act, Deneca benefits our department daily through her warm, inviting demeanor and exceptional critical thinking skills. Deneca is undoubtably one of our best nurses!
