Dee Dee was on the floor talking to all the patients she could find. It is a big task for a manager, as I was once a manager. In that role, you have so many management duties that it’s difficult to find time to engage with patients; in my case, it was customers unless there was a problem. She asked if I needed anything, and I replied, “Could I borrow a pair of reading glasses someone left behind?” Shortly before dinner, she handed me a brand-new pair. I’m extremely grateful she went out of her way to get them. What manager takes the time to engage with a patient like me? Please consider her for this DAISY Award. She is a true gem!
