Denene Schwertner, RN

Denene went above and beyond for this baby. She noticed the coloring looked off and decided to place a pulse ox on the hand and foot to compare. The numbers were very different. She called the nurse to bedside to look over the infant. Denene felt something was not right. She called NICU to evaluate. The NNP came to the bedside to assess. The NNP was unsure of what was going on and felt he could be watched in the nursery. Denene insisted that something was off. The baby went down to NICU and was found to have pulmonary hypertension. Denene advocated for this baby. This baby got the right treatment quickly due to her observation skills and interest in getting to the bottom of the issue. I'm so glad she's a part of our team.
