Denika M Turner, AS

Denika had a very sick patient in the ICU who, unfortunately, was going to pass away in spite of her best efforts. The patient requested a nice bath as one of his last wishes. Denika took the time to give him a bath to honor his wish. The patient did pass away, and she spent time with his wife to grieve. Another nurse passed the room to find Denika hand in hand with the spouse, while listening to her talk about their lives together. The spouse was able to walk away with gratitude and love for Denika. This is just one of many instances that Denika's empathy left a patient and or family members feeling comforted. She is the sunshine of our ICU unit!
