Denise was my daughter's nurse on the day of our discharge. My daughter was very upset and fearful of the IV and was very stressed about its removal. Denise displayed a very calm, compassionate response - her "matter of fact" attitude and certainty that my daughter could handle the procedure calmed my daughter. Denise was soothing and even made a special disney princess bandaid to put over the site. Denise gave me very valuable information about my daughter's condition and what to expect over the following few days. Had Denise not been so through in her teaching I may have returned to the ER for lack of certainty over the possibility of her fever continuing and cough worsening before it got better. We both left the unit with peace of mind and confidence to handle the recovery.
