I have always known Denise to be a caring person, but never more so than last weekend when she was taking care of a patient in Room 120 who was dying. She held his hand and cried with him and he was so grateful to have her by his side but even more so to have her look him in the eye. He said no one makes eye contact with him because of his prognosis. She deserves the DAISY Award and much more.
