I am a 70 year old woman who is relatively new to St. Louis. I have only been here for about 10 years, and have no family, or "old" friends in the area to rely on. I had to have a hip replacement July of 2014. This is the first major surgery I have ever had. It is also the first hospitalization I have had, other than pneumonia in the 5th grade! So, this was a scary time for me. ... Denise Frodeman entered the room with a smile on her face and a warmth that immediately put me at ease, and warmed my heart. Denise took time to talk to me, answer questions, and seemed to really care about me as her patient. I was just so thankful for the warmth and caring I felt coming from Denise. I had read the information on "Nominate a Nurse", and told Denise that day that I was going to nominate her. Sorry it took so long, Denise! I luckily didn't have a terrible illness. My hospital stay was short. But, I felt alone and anxious until Denise came in to care for me. The warmth and caring that a nurse shows her patients is worth more than any medicine; it is medicine for the heart and soul. Thank you Denise, and all the other nurses who bring their heart to their job.
