I was blessed to have Ms. Denise Grant as an instructor for MedSurg and Pharmacology. From the beginning of our program, she has gracefully adapted to the difficult challenges faced by online learning during the pandemic. She has offered daily words of encouragement, made herself available to students by phone, text, or email for help, and worn crazy hats to keep students engaged and morale boosted. She even tells great jokes, sings songs, creates rhymes, and does cool dances all in the name of memorization of nursing concepts and pharmacology. I struggled with depression during the program, and her supportive nature helped me get through it. One morning at clinicals, she offered her ear right as I felt I had reached a breaking point in my journey. Ms. Grant is professional and tactful, kind, considerate, compassionate, and understanding at all times. She is truly special, and a highly important aspect in contribution to the success of each nursing student @ SJVC. I only wish she could also be my instructor into the 2nd year as well!
