I had a critical respiratory patient who needed to be immediately intubated. Denise stepped in right away to help. She helped with heart monitoring, EKGs, IVs and catheter placement. Denise also helped with the 9+ IV drips that this patient needed. She did all this while precepting a new nurse. With Denise, patient care and advocacy always come first and foremost. If she believes something doesn't need to be done, she voices it. Denise is knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and caring. She has the foresight to "call" what is going to happen next. Nursing is second nature to Denise. As a co-worker, she won't leave you to "drown" and will never leave you if you are not comfortable. If I was a patient, (especially a critical one) I would want Denise to be my nurse. Actually, she already has been.
