Yesterday my 72-year-old mother was playing volleyball and fell backwards and broke her wrist in several places. She was in 10/10 pain and was in a rough way. We brought her to the Emergency Department, and the nurse who cared for us was Denise H. She was INCREDIBLE, to say the least! My mom has been a nurse for over 50 years, and I have been a nurse for 13 years. I have been a part of many different hospital experiences both professionally and personally with my family over the years, and this one truly stands out as one of the best experiences of proficient care, period. I was so impressed with the care and skill of Denise and the speed at which she delivered her excellent care. She was so human in her approach, and we all felt safe with her advocating for us. She is exactly the kind of nurse our field needs more of, kind, caring, compassionate, intelligent, and competent. For these reasons and so much more, Denise is a true DAISY Nurse.
