My husband and I suffered the loss of a baby. Every nurse part of my care was extraordinary, but we left considering Denise our angel on earth. She was one of the first nurses by our side when we found out our baby's heart stopped beating. She wasn't scheduled the next day, but she picked up the shift so she could be there with us during the delivery. She said, "I would have spent the whole day thinking of you anyway, so I might as well be here." I can't imagine wanting to be at work, caring for a couple that is about to deliver a stillborn baby. This is selflessness that I have never witnessed.

I was terrified. Denise calmed my fears and helped deliver my baby. Although it was the hardest thing I have ever done, she made it seem miraculously easy. Denise was exactly who I needed her to be, in every single moment in the worst 24 hours of my life. Not only was she caring for me, but she was also there for my husband providing him advice that I don't feel anyone else could have given him in this life-changing situation. Denise helped us survive this experience and is 100X over deserving of this award.
