During a stressful time, she did everything she could to make things easier.
I was unlucky to have had to stay in hospital recently with my 6 month old daughter, but lucky in this time to have met Denise! During a stressful time, she did everything she could to make things easier. Nothing was too much trouble for Denise, and I usually didn’t even need to ask. She would always be looking out for anything that she could do to make a mother’s difficult stay more bearable. Even when she was not my daughter’s dedicated nurse, she would regularly check in on us and help make the little things that are tricky with a baby, much easier, for example: bringing me a cup of tea in the morning or during the lights and encouraging me to sleep while my baby slept. Her genuine care was evident, and she showed an interest in my daughter and my whole family, including my young son, at home. When he came to the outside of the ward with my partner to drop us fresh clothes and food, she found him some coloring to take home. This small gesture went a long way in making sure he knew his baby sister was in a place where she was being looked after by kind and caring staff when he could have been worried about her. I watched her at work over the time I was in the ward, and she never stopped! She was always busy looking after patients and their families thoroughly, and if not, she was replenishing and organizing equipment. Her professionalism, care, and passion for what she does really stands out! Thank you again, Denise!
