Denise took care of our mother while she was a patient at Jackson. She worked constantly changing the meds, the IVs, and repositioning Mama in an effort to stabilize her and keep her comfortable. Mama had delirium and was in a deep sleep. I had heard Denise singing in the hall. I asked her to sing to Mama. I had always played music for her. Mama and I would sing together. I thought the singing might wake Mama up so that we could feed her and talk to her. Denise was so humble. She sang in her beautiful voice and Mama did wake up! What a blessing she was to all of us. We were able to talk to Mama for a few days more.

Denise was already doing more than you can possibly imagine a person could do, and then she took the time to stop and sing for Mama. Another amazing superhuman angel that took wonderful care of Mama. What she does is not a job. It is her life, her heart, her soul. She was so efficient and yet so compassionate. She also answered questions about how to turn Mama and use pull sheets. This was invaluable to us when it was just us taking care of Mama at home before she died.
