Denise Spitzer is our DAISY Award Honoree for the quarter for her empathy and caring attitude in all situations. Denise is a nurse in our Med Surg unit. She was nominated by a patient’s family member that she was caring for. The family of the patient stated that they were impressed with her professionalism but most of all was really taken by her warm and caring personality towards my family member and me:

"Denise treated my family member like he was her own grandfather and her loving ways I’m sure had an impact on how fast my family member recovered. She was always there to answer any questions and if she didn’t know (which was rare) she’d get the answer back within minutes. I’d like to thank Denise for making the unfortunate stay at PVH a little more bearable for my family member. She is by far the best I’ve ever seen."
