I am writing to recognize Logan Stamey for the extraordinary, heartfelt care he provided to my father and our family during one of the worst days of my life.
I brought my father into the Scotland Memorial Emergency Room. Our world was turned upside down when the doctors discovered a mass on his pancreas. In that moment of absolute shock and fear, Logan became our anchor.
He treated us with a level of kindness and love that went far beyond his clinical duties. He took the time to explain every procedure, test, and update in simple terms that we could easily understand, which brought an immense amount of comfort and peace to my daddy.
What I will remember forever happened when I walked back into my father's ER room. Logan was sitting right on the edge of the hospital bed, and he and my father were happily singing 90s country music together. In the middle of a devastating diagnosis, Logan brought a moment of pure joy, normalcy, and human connection into that room.
The kind of care Logan provided during this incredibly difficult time is not something you can learn in nursing school—it’s care that comes straight from the heart. I am forever grateful.
