DeeDee leads with compassion, grace, and strength. She is deeply committed to patient safety and constantly advocates for new projects that bring meaningful change to our unit and our hospital as a whole.
I may struggle to find the words that truly capture how incredible DeeDee is, but I’ll certainly try. DeeDee, as so many of us know her, is the very essence of what it means to lead. It’s not just her words, but her actions that speak volumes. Her unwavering dedication to the well-being of her team, patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes shines through in everything she does. She goes above and beyond to enhance the image of nursing leadership, proving time and again that true leadership isn’t just about a title—it’s about making a meaningful difference in the lives of those around her.
DeeDee is wholeheartedly committed to helping her unit thrive. She’s always present, always supporting, whether it’s through TCAB or keeping her staff informed with her many communication methods (trust me, there are many!). Even in the high-pressure world of critical care, DeeDee ensures patients receive not only top-tier care but also love and compassion. A perfect example of this is her outreach to have a Disney Princess visit a patient—an act that speaks volumes about her heart.
In her 'spare' time, DeeDee continues to lead the wound care program, empowering team members to grow while excelling in her own department’s quality outcomes, like achieving over 1,000 days CAUTI-free. On top of all that, she’s also co-chair of the Manager Council, where she mentors new leaders, guiding them through their transitions with patience and wisdom. Let's not forget her boundless energy, which she channels into strengthening everyone through her weekly exercise program!
Dee Dee’s tireless work ethic, her warm smile, and her positive energy are nothing short of inspiring. She’s a nurse leader who has truly blossomed over the past year. Her passion for people is contagious, and her commitment to both her team and her patients is something that we all deeply admire.

I am honored to nominate DeeDee Moseley for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. Since the day I arrived at Memorial Hermann, DeeDee has been an incredible mentor and role model to me. She has inspired me to grow in every possible way as a leader, instilling in me the confidence to keep moving forward, especially during moments when I felt like giving up.
DeeDee leads with compassion, grace, and strength. She listens to our ideas and supports our goals, always encouraging innovation and collaboration.
One moment that truly stands out is when she arranged for a Disney princess to visit a patient in the Medical ICU this past year. That thoughtful gesture brought so much joy, not just to the patient but to everyone who witnessed it. It was a beautiful reminder of how even the smallest act of kindness can have a profound impact on those around.
DeeDee may not fully realize how deeply she touches the lives of those around her, with her generosity, her caring heart, and her unwavering passion for nursing leadership. I feel incredibly lucky to learn from her, and I hope to one day lead a team with the same strength, humility, and heart that she brings every day.
