I was having a feeding tube placed during my time in the hospital which as you can imagine, is a really big change in life, especially since I'm only 20. There were several amazing nurses and staff at Integris. It's really a great place to be. I felt that Derek stood out during this challenging time. He was sweet but sassy and funny. He really knows how to cheer you up. He genuinely made something very scary and terrifying into a seemingly pleasant experience. I didn't show it but I was so scared and anxious the whole time. He reminded me I didn't have to act tough all the time and put on a face. That might seem small to him or someone else but it's something I struggled with greatly and being reminded of that helped so much. So thankful Derek was there to help me.
