Derek Ellis, APRN

I'm not sure who was responsible for hiring Derek, but I just want to send some praise. He is exceptional. Hands-on, caring, involved, and such a patient and staff advocate. He is always pleasant, open to suggestions, and respectful. He makes sure to follow up on patients who were in restraints or got a PETO multiple times during his shift. He even travels over from the hospital to HFCBW overnight just to make sure he shows his face to staff so we know he is available for support. The care he demonstrates for his patients is honorable and his passion shows. Thank you for adding such an amazing person to our team.

In addition to this exemplary recognition above, we have had similar feedback over and over from other night shift nurses and team leads. Derek was a bedside floor nurse for many years and now a provider, still always thinks about the floor nurses and how he can be most supportive and present for them! He truly demonstrates our values and mission.
