I would like to recognize our pre-op RN Deshaun for the following reasons. The first thing was how he put my nervousness away with his manner and patience. Deshaun kept the gathering of all information needed light and professional. Secondly, as well as with anything like starting the IV, he shared with me the staff names that "most likely" would be a part of my surgery team. He was very complimentary about each of them. If I should have another time to be in Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital, I would be very happy if Deshaun Jackson would be on staff and a part of my team.

I too was very impressed by the kindness and professionalism displayed by Deshaun Jackson as my mother's pre-op RN. He listened to her concerns, never rushing her, addressed them...and passed them on to those that needed to know. He made sure to be extra careful with her very thin skin, asked her preference on arms, places, etc. for her IV. He sat with my mother when we were delayed and, while getting all his duties done, made her feel as if she were chatting with a friend. That is a rare trait and VERY important in a pre-operation setting. He even offered to grab me a cup of coffee!
We sadly were told he was leaving for the day while she was in surgery, but his demeanor was amazing. ALL our care was great this visit, but Deshaun's was out of this world.
