Desirae V Jones
At the end of the clinical experience, Desirae had to experience, with my co-workers and me, a horrifically violent event and then experience the aftermath of it on the staff. Desirae stepped up to help me and our coworkers. I had to take over running the unit, and she took over the primary rounding and care of our patients.
When asked to get vitals and then round on some of the other nurses' patients during the shift, following the traumatizing event, she didn’t hesitate. Desirae stepped up during a time when she had to witness the emotional crumble of nurses and staff around us. This meant so much for our patients not to be neglected, which allowed me to do more for my coworkers that day, and knowing I could trust her in that meant everything.
She truly stepped up and maintained exemplary professionalism during a time that I would have understood if she needed to step away. Desirae is going to be an incredible nurse. Her kindness, caring, and dedication are very clear, and this is only the beginning.
