After a 14 hour labor through the night and less than 1 hour of sleep on the birth day, Desiree came on shift as our night nurse. At this point my husband and I were exhausted and simply needed time to sleep. Initially we sent the baby to the nursery but they brought her back unable to soothe her, this is when Desiree stepped up, acted in empathy and helped tremendously. Though feeding wasn't going well she coached me through it and during a time where I was too sensitive she found an electric pump to use all the while making conversation with me and keeping me sane. She also made time to get my husband a set of sheets for the pull out bed. He wasn't the patient and she didn't have to do it but she honestly committed to a higher level of care than we had seen. I can't tell you what a difference it made to have Desiree as our nurse. She cared about us and our circumstance. She did her job well but offered more. Thank you to Desiree for making a quickly deteriorating situation better and ensuring that we were equipped and served to recovery.
