Desiree needs to be recognized for going above and beyond in compassionate care, and genuine kindness in caring for patients in 4 South. We were so fortunate to have her assigned to my husband after a grueling surgery. Those first Post-Op 24hrs were extremely intense with complications and Desiree appeared like a confident, composed angel, full of knowledge and medical wisdom. Not only was she a blessing for my husband, but she was also a true blessing to me as well. She was a voice of reason and comfort during a time when things felt so vulnerable. Her steadfast confidence kept me calm and supported me during our stay. She went out of her way to make sure that I, the family member, was comfortable getting sleep and eating healthy. She even went as far as giving extra care by fixing my less than comfortable cot into something that I could actually get a bit of sleep on! She has an incredible ability to explain things, answer your questions, and be a true advocate for what is best for her patients. Desiree was made to do this kind of work, and we are very blessed to have had her as our nurse. She deserves all the recognition she can get!
