My 90-year-old father was admitted to the hospital…we didn’t know that it would be for just two days. He loved his nurse, Desi. She played an important role in my Dad’s comfort care. She showed such kindness and warmth. She was full of compassion and concern. She held his hand and chatted to him in a calming voice. Desi was very knowledgeable and skillful. She was devoted to my dad. I’m sure she was emotionally drained, but she let those difficulties be outweighed by playing a vital role in my dad’s journey. I’d like to thank her from the bottom of my heart for providing an empathetic ear and compassionate hand and hugs to my dad (and me) in his last days. She was indeed my dad’s guardian angel as he journeyed to heaven. Thank you so much, Desi!
