When I gave birth to my fourth child at South County Hospital, I had already "written off" breastfeeding due to past struggles. With my three older children, I had experienced frustrating latching issues and low production, always switching to formula around the two-week postpartum mark. I felt embarrassed that breastfeeding seemed so easy for others, and I was skeptical and resigned to pumping this time, expecting the same outcome.
Desiree, the lactation specialist, came to see me. I'll admit I was close-minded and stubborn, but she slowly disarmed me.

Expert Guidance: When I thought I knew all the tricks, she gently and with incredible finesse made corrections to my technique, navigating me being on the brink of tears.

Going Above and Beyond: Desiree's level of caring is unparalleled. When my rented hospital-grade pump was delayed, I worried I wouldn't be able to establish my supply in time. Desiree scrambled to find a solution: She provided a pump (donated to her business, Divine Drops!) that I could take home immediately since I hadn't gotten a non-medical-grade one through insurance.
She even stayed with me, changing the baby while I was on the phone with her contacts to get a pump she recommended through insurance.
Desiree has the absolute perfect demeanor and skill set for her job. She even continued to check in with me after I had left the hospital. I can't recommend her enough!
