I was admitted to the labor and delivery unit somewhat unexpectedly before 37 weeks. I had a lot of anxiety about the situation. Everything felt out of control. Dezz went above and beyond to educate and advocate. She drew a diagram on our board describing the baby’s stages. She provided a detailed picture of who would be in the room and what their roles were. She communicated in a way that was devoid of the healthcare jargon. She made me feel like everything was going to be OK at a time when I needed someone to tell me it would be OK.
