Patient was cared for in Surgical Services. His wife and daughter-in-law came to visit the patient post-op. The wife was incontinent, and Desiree discretely assisted the wife with cleaning and a change of clothes. The daughter approached me afterward and asked me, as Charge RN, to assist her with writing a recommendation for the DAISY Award. She stated that the care she received in Surgical Services was "above and beyond" any nursing care she had experienced previously. The patient's daughter-in-law is a retired RN.
