She was the best person to advocate for us, cheer us on, and help us welcome our baby into the world.
The night of my delivery Desiree was not scheduled to work, nor was I scheduled to give birth until three days later. Thank God, it worked out the way it did. As first-time parents having a natural birth, we had absolutely no idea what we were getting into. We had a birth plan all filled out, and still, we could not imagine how stressful, tiring, exciting, and thrilling the whole process could be. Desiree was with us every step of the way from start to end of her shift, educating us patiently and demonstrating a wide breadth of knowledge. Her passion for the work is apparent, and she has met her calling with a love for nursing, the work, and the people. She attended to the needs of our entire family the entire time. Desiree not only made sure my husband had enough water, blankets, and pictures of the delivery; but she also made sure all my countless needs were met while continuing to speak words of encouragement and comfort. At one point as I got up for the first time after delivery, I felt faint and she made sure I was safe by allowing me to rest against her until I regained composure. I was comforted knowing that she was not just a nurse, but was caring for me as she would her very own family. Our family would like to nominate her for the DAISY Award in recognition of the gifts of compassion, respect, and love she demonstrated. She was the best person to advocate for us, cheer us on, and help us welcome our baby into the world. God bless you, Desiree, for showing His love towards us! May you continue to be His healing hands and feet.

This is Desiree's second DAISY Award!
