I was admitted to the sixth-floor cardiac unit. The next morning, during shift change, the night nurse introduced me to the RN who would be caring for me that Saturday. There were two nurses assigned, but the one who primarily cared for me was Destiny Davis — and she made an unforgettable impact on my stay.

From the moment Destiny walked into my room, she greeted me with a warm, genuine smile and asked how I was doing and how I was feeling. I could immediately tell she truly cared.

Destiny is not only exceptionally intelligent, but also remarkably kind, patient, and compassionate. She explained every medication she administered, taking the time to tell me what it was for and making sure I understood. If I had questions, she never rushed me. She made me feel like an active participant in my own care.

As an 85-year-old disabled woman, I often need extra help to stay comfortable. Destiny went above and beyond — adjusting my bed, helping me reposition, and making sure I had everything I needed. She cared for me as a whole person, not just a patient.

Destiny came into my room with a smile every single time. Her kindness, her calm presence, and her genuine concern made a difficult hospital stay so much easier. She did far more than her job required, and I am deeply grateful.

I want to give a special and heartfelt shout-out to Destiny for everything she did for me, and for the kindness she showed my family when they visited. She is a shining example of what nursing should be.

Thank you, Destiny, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
