Destiny Powell, RN

From the initial assessment through discharge, Destiny works so hard to ensure the best possible experience for her patients! She may have a phone call for her assessment or be assessing them while in our ED, but her patients always seem much more informed and at ease with the entire process. Patients remember her by name and speak highly of the time she takes with them and the information she provides to them. It is clear to anyone who gets to work alongside her that Destiny truly cares about her patients and loves the work she is doing. Even when a patient does not need admission, we can always count on Destiny to provide resources that will benefit the patient. She often goes above and beyond her role and is such a huge help to our ER staff. We all feel better when we know she is here!

Destiny deserves this Award because she is always knowledgeable about her job and focuses on admitting patients from within and outside of the hospital, effectively and promptly. She is a team player and always ready to jump in when needed, even if it means going the extra mile that others would not. I have watched her sit with patients in their darkest times and make them feel seen and heard while remaining calm with the patient and staff!
