This nurse is 100% what I call a wingman. Always makes sure his patients are taken care of. But this shout out goes because he always makes sure I am OK. Do I need anything? Smile. Right around the corner if I need him even if it's for a different patient, we need more men like him.
I went to East 2 looking for the max lift. We had a patient on the floor on West 2. This nurse saw me in distress and asked if we needed help getting the patient off the bathroom floor. I said that would be great. He came to help us on West 2. We got the patient safely onto the max assist sling and onto her bed. This nurse didn't hesitate to offer help to team members in need. Thank you.
I came in with difficulty breathing, chest pain, fluid in my lung, heart rate through the roof. I am young and pretty healthy, so I was extremely nervous and scared. He would see it in my face, sit down and talk to me, explain things to do, speak positively. He is also compassionate. I was always hitting my nurse button and he never once seemed bothered or upset. Instead, he came into my room saying, "What's up, my friend?" He made me feel so comfortable asking questions, think positive and made me trust him. More importantly, he was my sanity. He goes above and beyond with his positive energy. He truly loves his career. He is the #1. He cares for his patients as if they are his family. He is kind and humble. I thank God for placing him as my nurse for 3 days because this is the most worried, I have ever been in the hospital.
