The way De'Von so tenderly helped her to the wheelchair and then to the stretcher nearly brought me to tears.
When a fellow RN had a seizure inside of a patient’s room, De'Von came to the rescue providing emergency seizure care with extreme compassion. As the charge nurse that day on HG, De'Von calmed his team and led them to provide the care their colleague so desperately needed.

As his coworker awoke in a confused and scared state, De'Von comforted her and reassured her. The way De'Von so tenderly helped her to the wheelchair and then to the stretcher nearly brought me to tears. De'Von followed up with his colleague while she was in the Emergency Department to see how she was doing. As family is not currently allowed at the beside in the ED, De'Von went as far as going outside to find the spouse of the co-worker, provide him with updates, and comfort him while he could not be with her. And already De'Von is sharing his ideas on how we could make the unit a more inclusive environment for staff to share their potential medical needs.

De'Von is rarely assigned to work on HG, but I truly feel like there was divine intervention that day. I know his team and his co-worker are thankful and truly believe De'Von was right where he needed to be that day
