This nurse came to Universal Pediatrics while attending nursing school. Their client is very active and needs constant monitoring of seizures and safety as he tries to live life to the fullest as a young child. During the summer months, this nurse would go on walks, nature hikes, scavenger hunts, rock findings, and so much more. This nurse goes out of her way to keep up with the high energy of her client. The client unfortunately has seizures during the night, so this nurse was adaptable and beyond committed to her client. She switched to the night shift and worked nights to allow her client's parents peace of mind. She would be there for her client when he would wake in the middle of the night needing something to drink, but most importantly, she was there for her client when he would have seizures in his sleep.

This nurse was a friendly, caring, comforting face during a scary moment for her client. By being so willing, this nurse allowed her client's parents to get a good night's rest, knowing that their child was being taken care of and was safe in the comfort of their own bed and, most importantly, home. This nurse returned to working days to allow for her client's parents to be able to continue to work as it was always a fine line between sleep or being able to provide for their family and knowing their child was cared for.

When school bells started ringing again, this nurse chose to be able to attend school full-time with her client to allow him to continue to seek age-appropriate education with his peers. This nurse, at times, is the only one during the school day who can direct her client's behaviors. This nurse is calm and direct and has found what works when others have struggled to be able to do so. This nurse is, at times, the fine line between her client being able to remain in school. Recently, this nurse arrived for her shift as her client was being whisked away by ambulance. This nurse accompanied the client's mom on her own time to ensure the family was still being cared for and knew that they had her compassion at their side. No worries, though. Her client had to tell her just how cool it was that he rode in the ambulance and that he did not have to go to school... (Spoiler, they went to school that day).

The client's mom reached out to express how much she appreciated having this nurse at her side. She knew that the nurse did it out of the kindness of her own heart as she truly cares about her client and their family. Since then, this nurse and her client have returned to hide and seek, nerf wars, building forts, going on hikes, riding bikes, and going for walks. Frequently the client's mom will reach out or give this nurse praises as she is greatly appreciated by her client's family.
