My wife had to bring in one of our children to the ED, when they got home, she raved about how great the nurse was that helped them. She filled out one of the Thank a staff member cards for me to bring back. I felt that it needed to be here instead. This is what she wrote: “Devyn, Thank you for being so thorough and brave enough to bring your concerns about my son’s breathing to the RT, MD, and other RNs. You could have just given discharge instructions and sent us on our way, but instead, you cared enough to have a questioning attitude (yes, I work in healthcare), and because of that, the discharge was delayed for a breathing treatment and more monitoring. I know it’s not always comfortable to speak up, but you did (twice, actually), and I appreciate it so very much. I can tell you are in the right field and will continue to make a difference throughout your career! Thank You!!!”
